The Ashigezaki Scenic Overlook

local_offer

The Ashigezaki Scenic Overlook is located on the cape in front of the Samekado Lighthouse. It was used as a lookout facility for the Japanese army during the later period of WWII, but is now used as a generally scenic overlook for the public. The spot affords breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding scenery of the Tanesashi Coast.

It is a main stop along the Tanesashi Coast’s walking trail, along which various flowers bloom with the changing of the seasons. Located at the base of the overlook is a café called ‘Hulunbuir’, whose soft serve ice cream is extremely popular.
