Below is a list of information centers for visitors in Hachinohe. Many of these facilities have English speaking staff on hand so feel free to stop by if you have any questions or problems.  

The Hachinohe Tourism Information Center 

The Hachinohe Tourism Information Center is located on the second floor of the Hachinohe Station, making it the closest and most convenient point of information for any visitors using the Shinkansen or JR Trains. The center contains the best information for not only great sightseeing spots in the Hachinohe Area, but all you need to know about local transportation (including sightseeing taxi & bus deals, and info on rental cars), lodging and local accommodations, and more! Furthermore, the plaza has English speaking staff, a sitting area, and free wifi, making it a great place to start any trip to the Hachinohe Area!

The Information Counter at the Hachinohe Portal Museum hacchi 

The Hachinohe Portal Museum hacchi is a great facility located in the middle of downtown Hachinohe. Hacchi functions as a part-museum-part-community-facility by providing great information and exhibits on the culture of Hachinohe while also providing a space for events and activities within the community.  

Moreover, the information counter on the first floor of the city is a great starting point for any adventure in Hachinohe. Besides offering free guided tours of the facility (English speaking guides available), the staff can also help you with any logistical questions about using the city’s public transportation, and more!

The Tanesashi Coast Information Center

The Tanesashi Coast Information Center is located directly in front of the Tanesashi Natural Lawn. It was built to commemorate the designation of the Sanriku Reconstruction Park as a national park.

The facility provides information on the nature of the Tanesashi Coast, Hashikamidake Coast, and Michinoku Shiokaze Trail. It also features information about the culture, history, and daily lives of the people who live on the coast. The information center runs guided tours and hands-on programs to help visitors learn more about the area and enjoy this beautiful national park to its fullest. As you explore the facility, make sure you take the time to relax and enjoy the view of the Tanesashi Natural Lawn.
