The Yama-no-Gakko is a workshop and exchange facility that uses the building and grounds of the now-closed Masuda Elementary/Junior High School. It offers a full lineup of workshops where you can get to know the locals—learning the wisdom of those who lived here in the past along with the techniques for making soba noodles, charcoal, tofu or miso.
In late August, you can enjoy the scenery of over 2 million sunflowers in full bloom in the fields behind the school.
