The Tate No Yakata House

local_offer

The Tate No Yakata House is a building that is part of the Shimamori’s Outdoor Museum. It is a pristine example of an old-style thatched-roofed farmhouse. It has been moved to its current location for visitors to see and experience local agricultural activities.

The house was built over 400 years ago. Its old irori hearth, earthen floors, tatami rooms, and beautiful roof are perfect windows into the past. By walking through this house you can see how people lived in the Japanese countryside hundreds of years ago. The house still plays an important role in the community and is used for different local activities and events.
