The Hasshoku Center

The Hasshoku Center is a large marketplace with a great selection of fresh seafood straight from the port of Hachinohe. It also has a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, and souvenirs from southern Aomori. About 60 stalls line the 170-meter long “Main Market” area. Inside the facility, there are two restaurant areas – the Kuriya Stadium and the Aji Yokocho. Both contain various restaurants that serve seafood or non-seafood centered dishes like ramen and fried chicken.

One of the most popular places in the center is the Shichirin-mura. There you can grill over a charcoal brazier fresh seafood bought from one of the market’s many stalls. The Shichirin-mura is a cheap and fun way to enjoy Hachinohe’s amazing seafood, and it is very popular amongst visitors and locals alike.
