Shirahama is a great swimming beach that boasts some of the most beautiful sand in the area. The beach is fully equipped with showers and changing rooms, as well as snack vendors during the swimming season, and is the largest swimming beach in Hachinohe. It bustles with swimmers particularly during the period from mid-July to late August.
It was also selected as one of Japan’s top 100 swimming sites, as designated by the Ministry of the Environment, in 2006.
