Hachinohe-Showadori

When the Tohoku Shinkansen began service to Hachinohe in 2002, the alleyway was given the name “Hachinohe Showa-dori” as it was felt to have a warm, nostalgic atmosphere of the Showa era, especially the 1950s and 1960s. With izakayas, yakitori shops, small pubs and restaurants serving the local “sobakakke” dish, this relatively wide, bright alley is comfortable even for those who are new to “yokocho” nightlife.
